We have reserved the entire estate including the castle, and several cottages on the property. All guests will experience 1st class comfort.
Rooms will be assigned based on a myriad of considerations. We will ask you to indicate a preference when you pay your deposit, though we cannot promise an individual choice will be assigned.
Rest assured, all options are totally top drawer and you will not be left to suffer in the cold—unless you want that.
Life in the Castle
While the sleeping options vary, our basecamp will be the same for everyone. The grand rooms, gardens, and full amenities of Dunskey Estate will be open for all to enjoy. We’ll begin each day together here with breakfast and end each day with a shared dinner and a private bar. During the free time you may find yourself on one of the guided tours around the property or to a local site. There will be spa days and yoga. You might enjoy one of the other recreational opportunities that will be offered on the estate. Or perhaps you’ll venture off to enjoy the Scottish countryside. Whatever your preference, the Castle is your home to enjoy whenever you please.

THe Castle Bedrooms
The castle offers 22 well-appointed bedrooms, mostly Scottish King (American Queen!) beds with ensuite bathrooms. These are updated spaces blending modern and traditional design, with a flair for the fanciful. The rooms are spread across two wings and two floors.
Common areas will be enjoyed by all wedding guests throughout the day and night. We do anticipate that these could be disruptive for the rooms toward the shared areas or near the windows in the front of the castle.
The Cottages
Private, quiet, and close to nature, the cottages have full kitchens and are freshly remodeled. All cottage options are located on the Dunskey Estate grounds and most are within a 10 minute stroll from the castle. Cottages have either 2 or 3 bedrooms in each, and between 1 and 3 bathrooms.
Carlton house ON The BaY
Steps from the water, experience the village in all of its glory. This beautifully remodeled seaside holiday home is situated on the main drag in Portpatrick, facing the bay, and is within steps from villages’ several pubs, restaurants, and shops. A few minutes’ drive will have you door-to-door between the Carlton House and Dunskey Estate Castle, or you can opt for a 20 minute country-side stroll.
The OLD CHurch
Insta-ready! Fully renovated Victorian “Free Kirk” in the village, close to pubs, restaurants, and shops. All bedrooms have king beds and ensuite bathrooms. The Old Church is only a few minutes drive from the Dunskey Estate Castle, or a lovely 20 minute walk through the country-side.
